Psychologist Papers is a scientific-professional journal, whose purpose is to publish reviews, meta-analyzes, solutions, discoveries, guides, experiences and useful methods to address problems and issues arising in professional practice in any area of the Psychology. It is also provided as a forum for contrasting opinions and encouraging debate on controversial approaches or issues.

Se discuten los requisitos mínimos que debería reunir la formación de posgrado para el ejercicio profesional de la psicoterapia como una de las actividades fundamentales del psicólogo clínico, las alternativas existentes en España para adquirir dicha formación, y el papel que en la misma pueden desempeñar las unidades, centros o servicios de asistencia psicológica de las Universidades a través de un sistema de residencia. Como ejemplo de cuál podría ser ese papel, se describen las características y el funcionamiento de la Unidad de Psicología Clínica y de la Salud de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, y se analiza el currículum y el plan de actividades que se llevan a cabo en la Unidad para la formación de posgrado en psicología clínica y psicoterapia a través de becas-residencia.
This article discusses minimum standards for postgraduate, professional training for psychologists specializing in psychotherapy as one of the main activities of clinical psychologists, the alternatives existing in Spain for receiving that training, and the role that University psychological services centers may play in that training by offering residency programs. As an example of that role, the characteristics and functioning of the Health and Clinical Psychology Unit of Complutense University are described, and its curriculum and activity program for postgraduate training in clinical psychology and psychotherapy by means of residency scholarships are analyzed.
