Papeles del Psicólogo es una revista científico-profesional, cuyo objetivo es publicar revisiones, meta-análisis, soluciones, descubrimientos, guías, experiencias y métodos de utilidad para abordar problemas y cuestiones que surgen en la práctica profesional de cualquier área de la Psicología. Se ofrece también como foro para contrastar opiniones y fomentar el debate sobre enfoques o cuestiones que suscitan controversia.
En el último cuarto de siglo, la psicología científica en España ha experimentado un desarrollo extraordinario y se ha logrado su institucionalización como campo especializado de investigación respaldado por un grado académico de licenciatura y su carácter profesional. En ese proceso, el núcleo iniciador de Germain y sus colaboradores ha influído poderosamente, dándole continuidad, al tiempo que ha habido incorporación de elementos innovadores como resultado de la especialización creciente de sus grupos más activos.
In the last decades, scientific psychology in Spain has had a great development, and its institutionalization has taken place, as a university degree in psychology was established with its related professional area. A very active group leaded by J.Germain inspired and contributed to such processes, and set the basis for a tradition, that prevent the appearance of new lines and creative projects, resulting from the growing specialization impulsed by the new situation. El objetivo de este estudio es reflejar la situación de la actividad científica en Psicología de los autores españoles durante el período 1981-1999 y analizar su posición internacional mediante indicadores bibliométricos sencillos de carácter general extraídos de su producción en revistas internacionales. Se presentan los resultados mostrando su evolución temporal, distribución por idiomas, revistas más utilizadas y país de edición de las revistas, áreas temáticas y autores más productivos. Se obtiene el índice de coautoría. Se concluye que la aportación a la Psicología científica internacional muestra un crecimiento significativo a través del tiempo. Se ha observado que la productividad en revistas extranjeras ha sido superior en las áreas de Psicología afines a las ciencias naturales que en las áreas afines a las ciencias sociales. Los temas más tratados y las revistas más utilizadas en la producción internacional son las bio- fisio- neuro- ciencias y los autores que más publicaron en revistas extranjeras fueron los que trataban dichos temas.
The objective of this study is to reflect the situation of scientific activity in Psychology of Spanish authors during the 1981-1999 period and to analyze their international position. To this end, bibliometric indicators of general character had been extracted from international journals. The results show the following: Temporary evolution, distribution by languages, most used Scientific Journals, index of coauthory and most productive thematic areas and authors. The fact that contribution to International Scientific Psychology shows a significant growth through the studied period is concluded. Also, the fact that productivity in foreign journals has been inferior in areas related to social sciences than in areas related to natural sciences has been observed. Bio-fisio-neuro-sciences were the subjects more frequently dealt with in the international production and the authors more productive in foreign journals were those that dealt with subjects related to natural sciences.

Fierro and the WORKING CONFERENCE of 1987, in which the text of the Code was approved. These were followed by approval by the Governing Board Meeting in 1987 and by the General Meeting in 1993. The Code is thus an eminently consensus-based document.
